The International Festival of Puppetry Art in Mostar – FLUM announces a call for participation in the competition program of the 6th edition of the festival, which will be held from September 20 to 25, 2026.
We invite all professional theaters or groups that have puppet shows for children and adults in their repertoire to send their applications to flum@plm.ba no later than March 31, 2026. year.
How to apply:
All applicants for the official competition are required to submit, in addition to the completed application form:
- video of the performance
- 5 photos (2000 px)
- short content of the play (up to 900 characters)
- short text about theater or biography (up to 900 characters)
- names of creative and technical team members (no more than 12 people)
Selection:
The basic criterion for the selection of plays is their artistic quality. The performance can be verbal or non-verbal, with the fact that for performances performed in a language that is not the official language of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian), the applicant should provide a translation (subtitle).
The Festival selector decides on the quality of the performances competing for the official selection.
Due to the large number of applications, we will only send notifications to those theaters/participants whose play is selected for the shortlist, which will contain 20 plays.
You will be notified of the performances selected for the competitive part of the festival by Thursday, April 30, 2026.
Prices
The festival of puppetry in Mostar awards the following prizes:
- Grand Prix “Golden Firefly” for the best performance,
- Best Director award,
- Best scenography award,
- Best dramaturgy award,
- Best puppets award,
- Best original music award,
- 5 equal acting awards,
- Festival director’s special award.
The awards are decided by a three-member international jury, selected from among world-renowned puppeteer artists.

Conditions of participation:
According to the Festival’s regulations, participants bear the costs of travel to Mostar and back themselves, while the Festival organizer covers the costs of local transportation, accommodation (hotel), food, technical support, as well as accreditation for all Festival events.
