Zenica, City of Lights

The city of light in Zenica is born from the desire to turn the vision of the residents of their own community into a concrete stage work. Here, it is precisely the citizens who represent and construct the city in which they live in an artistic form. Without aesthetic rules, a magical world is created composed of different dreams and desires, in which the individual poems of the participants meet.

We work with people of all generations and backgrounds, because we believe in the integration of differences and the coexistence of ideas. The city is built through recycled materials that participants bring, choose and shape, constructing buildings, parks, bridges, streets, vehicles, nature and invented machines, whatever their imagination conjures up.

In these times of division and walls, theater must contribute to the betterment of the world through art.The City of Light wants to bring people and cities closer, enable us to get to know each other better and show how we live, but also to learn how others live.

The Zenica version of the City of Light, which you see before you, is the result of joint work, openness and imagination. I hope that you will recognize Zenica in her, maybe real, maybe imagined, but certainly the one that arises from you.
